I myself at first did not believe in what is supposed about these strange phenomena, but well informed I changed my mind and then I took the matter from a different side.
The thing that made me change my mind is the simple fact that looking up to heaven, this phenomenon is very frequent and documented, I personally shot several photos every week.
But let's go, what they are and how to recognize?
There are two types of contrails, the normal condensation trails and the "chemical". To see the difference we report here a very comprehensive picture:
This image taken from http://www.sciechimiche.org shows an example of a chemical trail contrail. A normal contrail is formed in very specific climatic conditions at -40 ° and 70% relative humidity, water vapor that escapes from the engine, it turns into ice crystals, thus forming the contrail.
Chemtrails however, are very different in appearance to the principle and the shape looks the same, but looking better, you notice that the chemical trail tends to persist for hours, slowly forming a fine mist that the sun takes often strange colors.

Phenomenon "ON-OFF"
Often there is the phenomenon called "ON-OFF", essentially consists in turn off and turn on the jet contrails forming staple, here's an example:
